Model 5501 Spin Tester
Production line spin testing – rotating parts for structural integrity up to 15,000 rpm
For pre-balanced parts up to 14" in diameter and 20 lbs. in weight

Economical and Convenient
The Model 5501 Spin Tester is a production line on-site tester that costs about 1/3 as much as other commercially available testers. It avoids the inconvenience, delays and expense of sending parts out to a spin test facility. It permits more stringent quality control because it is always readily available. It prevents costly re-work by detecting weaknesses in rotating parts before they are assembled into a finished product. And, if a finished product should fail, the test reports would be extremely valuable in case of liability litigation.

Simple to Operate
All test parameters and specs -- acceleration and deceleration ramps, current, voltage, rotational speed and length of test - are pre-programmed. Once the test cycle is started, the test proceeds automatically.

Power is provided by a 15 hp programmable variable frequency motor. The power is directly transferred by a single drive belt to a No. 40 cartridge type pre-lubricated NMTB change-out spindle. The tester is exceptionally flexible and accommodates a wide variety of product configurations.

Safety Aspects
Rotation of the test piece is one-directional. It can only be changed with a key which is kept by supervisory personnel. Four interlock switches prevent operation until the test chamber cover is securely fastened. If vibration of the tested part exceeds the limits set by the user, a warning light will go on and the test sequence will automatically stop. In addition, the test can be stopped manually at any time by depressing the EMERGENCY STOP button. A two-layer, 14-inch O.D. polycarbonate viewing port provides safe visual monitoring of the test.

The Model 5501 Tester is the economical, convenient, simple and safe way to ensure the structural integrity of rotating parts.
